Encouraging News and Preparing for Surgery
Today we got a little good news to help us get through the week. Abigail's direct bilirubin level went down to 11.9 this week from 17 last week. We are trying not to get too excited but those numbers are at least a step in the right direction for her liver.
The other major thing we found out today is that Abigail will be having her heart surgery on Monday, April 18th. We haven't heard what time the surgery will be yet but we expect to find out more over the weekend. She finished her steroids and antibiotics today and will have a few days without them to hopefully beef up a bit more.
Abigail's heart surgery will include correcting her TAPVR (Total Anomolous Pulmonary Venous Return), closing her ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) and closing as many VSDs (Ventricular Septal Defects) that they can get to. Essentially correct the plumbing of her heart. We may be able to update more as we have more information about the the heart surgery. That's the news for this evening we thank you for your continued prayers for Abigail.
