Our Big 1 Year Old!

Our baby girl is one! Can you believe it? We are feeling so blessed to be able to celebrate her life and how far she has come. She is so brave and has made such an impact on so many.

This past weekend we had a party for Abigail at our home and it was a huge success.  Our little house was full of friends and family who indulged us in this celebration.  After all of the trials Abby has been through this year, it meant a great deal to have so many there to be a part of the joyous occasion.  We are still beaming with pride!

At the party we collected baby items from our guests to make a donation to the NICU at Cook Children's in Abby's honor.   To the people who donated, thank you so much!  It is a pretty crummy experience to have a newborn in the hospital and your contributions will help make things a little more comfortable to the babies and their families.  We will be forever grateful for the care and comfort shown to us at Cook's.  We will give an update when we deliver the donations.

She partied too hard.

Abby's big present from her mommy and daddy was a new Radio Flyer wagon! She loved it! Daddy took her for a spin after the party was over.

On her actual birthday we went to lunch as a family.

Then Abigail and our friend's Courtney and Audrey took a trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo.   She had such a fun day! The weather has been great here the past few days and we have enjoyed getting out and about.

Our little girl is doing well now and seems to be over her cold.  The past few days she has been so active and is eating solids much better.  We will be making another trip up to the hospital Monday though.  One of the tubes in Abby's ear needs to be replaced which requires anesthesia.  It's not that big of a deal but we aren't looking forward to it.

It seems like a long time ago but, my goodness, life can change so much in a year.  We have been richly blessed this past year and we look forward to what this coming year will bring.

How adorable is that little Abigail! I know you all are so proud as parents. She has come so far and is the bravest little one year old I know. Her party looked like it was fit for a princess and I would have loved to have been there. Just so happy for you all!
